today is the summer solstice. it rained.

Hi,

Sorry I haven't been around. For some reason, I've been pretty busy lately. And now, I don't even have time to write. Have to go to sleep. Summer school is getting intense.... So much work and everything is depressing.

And the weather sucks to top it all off. Now I think I'm jealous of you being in Texas... even though it's... Texas.

Also, you know how I said my mom took my film to be processed? Well, it turns out, when she took the film out, she didn't do it right since she exposed it to light and now all my exposures would be all black... or white. No photos. So no point printing them now...

Having fun?

OH. You know how you love Audrey Hepburn? Me too. But the point is, this quote:

“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible!’

OK. I just reread everything and I sound so... I don't know, depressed? Like I'm complaining too much? SORRY!
I'll be better tomorrow and actually write something worth reading.

fashion is the butter to my bread and movie is the breath to my life

Hello.
Resort 2011 is fun fun fun. I believe this is one thing that we agree upon. White seems to be crucial don't you think? and then, there are the colors. Next came the prints. Oh I wish I have them all.
3.1 Phillip Lim
Sonia Rykiel

Balenciaga

Oh My God, I am loving your movies selection. We all know that Breakfast at Tiffany's and Sabrina are must-watches. And the fashion in there is just ah-mazing. I am not even kidding.

Those are my favorite outfits of Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina. Aren't you loving her hat? She just came back from Paris in the image above. I wish I am a Parisian. The food, the fashion. If only... Here are a few of my suggestions for movies. Gosh, they are my all-time favorites, and the fashion, speechless.

Grace Kelly in Rear Window
another beautiful dress, and Cary Grant, dreamy
Audrey Hepburn in How to Steal A Million, those white sunglasses
with oh-so-handsome Peter O'Toole

Audrey Hepburn in Charade
that hat and that red coat, and yes, Cary Grant again
white and black, never goes out of style

Okay, so there you go, three more movies, Rear Window, How to Steal A Million, and Charade. Casablanca was pretty good too. (I saw that in your movie selections) Not my favorite, but Ingrid Bergman is one of my favorite actress. Oh! I don't know how I could live without movies and fashion.

Pam.

The title is from Julie & Julia, a movie I just watched yesterday. I changed it a bit, but it deserves the credit.

you have to do stuff that averaage people don't understand because those are the only good things - andy warhol.

Bonjour,
你好. Hola. γειά σου.
You're making summer school seem much more like a waste of my summer than it probably is. Shopping for 8 hours (go to American Apparel and Madewell - they're doing a colab with Alexa Chung)? I wish. My life is more like algebra II for 8 hours. And.. I didn't know you ran ! I thought you said you never ever did anything like that. Yes, I'm trying out for XC, but now that I know you used to run 6 miles, I'm going to make you try out with me, ok? Me? Well. I haven't ran since the season ended in the US (that was before I moved) and I'm probably more out of shape than you. Now. You were talking about food? I never went to Arby's before, so I wouldn't know if it tastes "soooo good". But now you can eat all you want since it's only 350. Oh, while I'm talking about food, a break from your food log? I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but, why though? Just wondering.

While you're off in the Texas having a shop till you drop moment, wait, never mind, you said you have been controlling yourself? I'm surprised, in a good way though, considering, all the stuff that was on your list. Bought something too, though, not as interesting as your skirt. Just some black legging type pants. Need to go to some formal event.

the bag

I was looking at the resort collections for 2010, some of them are actually pretty good:

Marc Jacobs Resort 2011

Celine Resort 2011 - love Phoebe Philo's Celine

Alexander Wang resort 2011

I was also wasting a lot of time looking at photos:

Nicholas Kirkwood x Rodarte

the Celine bag - it's from their resort collection (OK, the photo is getting cut in half, but the other half shows the Celine bag that you liked - remember at 101?

Proenza Schouler clutch from fw09

Dsquared heels

Prada chandlier heels - I still want them.

I was just watching Lady Gaga's Alejandro video just before I wrote this. Not sure what to think about it. Watched it yet?

Summer so far, has been OK I guess. I went to the Gaultier exhibition showing stage clothes he designed. They wouldn't let me take photos, so I could only photograph the posters:

Pretty interesting I guess.

Yes, I've started both the Alchemist and A Tale of Two Cities and I finished The Last Lecture. But I haven't read the AP Euro books yet. And since my mom expects me to be an overachiever, she wants me to read all of the books on the summer reading list and the books we have to read during the school year, even for the classes I'm not taking.

Just some of the books I have to read... and film... and a sunglasses case (not sure what that's doing there). But then, it's not all bad I guess. I'm also watching a bunch of old movies too (including Breakfast at Tiffany's - love Audrey Hepburn). If you see Sylvia Scarlett (with Katherine Hepburn) anywhere, could you get it for me (I will pay you back - while I'm talking about this, you can't NOT accept the nail polish. It's a gift.). I really want to watch it but can't find it anywhere in Taiwan and no one can order it either.

old movies I recently bought

What else? I still don't really wear makeup everyday - actually, I rarely wear makeup. But, what did I tell you? The NARS bronzer looks really good. And, yes, I know about Mulberry x Target (there's going to be 8 styles made out of velvet and denim and... they come out Oct. 10, if you didn't know). I WANT. If they have something I really like, I might even get people in the US to buy me one... or maybe just ask my mom to eh, ask people.

And sunglasses... those are ok, not really me I guess. I still like these better (they're all from nasty gal) - OK, just found that I can't post photos of them. Links then.

I'm blasting my music right now since the rest of my fam went out to watch Killers, I already watched it with some other people. Listening too...

And a bunch of other stuff that I can't remember right now. Don't really like the album cover of the last one much though.

And now I have ran out of stuff to write. WELL. That was long or maybe there's just a lot of photos (I really need to start writing more), but you know me, more of a photo person. Lately, I've been in a rambling-on mood, so maybe that's why. So, back to matrices and quadratic formulas it is.

ann.

(I really need to come up with a better way to end than just my name...)

just another long letter

dear ann,

It took me awhile to think of what to write. In fact, I still didn't figure out what exactly should I write about, but I decided to write whatever comes into my mind. So bear with me.

It is 11:30 am here, and I am still eating breakfast. I woke up at 10:00 am, and breakfast was already served. My breakfast contain brown rice, tofu, and an egg. Yes, I am still keeping up the 1/2 vegetarian diet. About my food log... well, let's just say, I am taking a break, like what I did with many things. Anyways, back to the morning. I just saw a fox earlier in my backyard. It didn't linger long, or else I would have taken a picture of it.

I went to the gym yesterday. I ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes. Nearly killed me. God, I am so out of shape. I used to run six miles in one and a half hour as daily workout, but now, I can't even run for 30 minutes. Are you going to try out for cross country? Surprisingly, I lost some weights since I came back. Not much, but I am not eating very healthy. Few days ago, I went to Arby's. Oh my god, the roast beef sandwich, it tastes sooooooo good. And the curly fries, they are irresistible. As I was enjoying the lovely combination of those two, I read their commercial board, it states "our regular roast beef sandwich (the one I ordered) has only 350 calories". Accentuate on the only. My expression was "OMFG". That didn't include my curly fries. I still finished them all. I also ate pizzas for late night dinner while watching Sherlock Holmes with my friend. Can you even imagine me eating two slices of Domino pizzas on a bed at 11 pm? Even though I shopped for 8 hours earlier that day, I don't think I burned enough calories since I also had a Godiva dark chocolate with raspberry shake. The saddest thing is that, I am craving for them, like right now. I wish I am like you, you should be glad that you don't get hunger. I just realized I talked about food for at least 20 minutes. And I am moving on.

I finally got to shop! Guess what? We have Madewell, American Apparel, Free People, and UO in Texas. I didn't get anything from any of those stores except for UO because I ran out of time. But I did got a very pretty lace skirt for UO.

Do you like it? I like it. It is high waist, by the way. I am going there again this weekend, or next week. I have to go there to get that dress. I think it is it. I would be really sad if it is sold out. I don't know. I really like it. I think you will like it too. You will understand why is black my favorite color. I am looking for swimsuits as well. I got a pair of skinny jeans. No big surprises. I am loving those jeans. You know how much I like wearing jeans in general. You like them too. I still cannot find a perfect pair of AE jeans, they are either too big or too long. And I don't like to roll up my jeans. Now that I am thinking about the stuff that I got, I didn't buy much. I learned to control myself. I suppose that's good right?

And Texas. Texas, Texas, Texas. Like I said, it is like any city (well most) in the States. I will take some photos of the city when I get a chance to. But here are some photos of my room. It is quaint, but I like it. The bed is extremely comfy. I don't get that often, as you know. I would love to have a skirt made out of the fabric for the wall.

This room is probably not your style but oh well! So this photo is taken from my mirror of my makeup table, obviously. Speaking of makeups, I put on makeup almost everyday now. The NARS bronzer is ah-mazing. And I bought the Chanel nail polish your mom got me, but I am not sure should I use them or not, because I still don't think I should accept it. I am going to SEPHORA soon, to get your birthday gifts. That means, young lady, don't do any makeup shopping alright? And I lost the bet, sadly, but the bet was I will accept whatever you get me, but it is not my obligation to tell you what I want. I love the Balenciaga bag, but I am not craving for it anymore, you know me, something can be so last week, even though the week before I was going KOOKOO over it. So there you go.

My summer, believe it or not, is so not fashionable. I don't bother to put on something nice. I just throw on a pair of shorts or jeans, if I am going out. I need inspirations. Neutral is so in right now, but it is kind of oldish for us. Floral is well like IN big time. The items I am loving are watch with leather strap, sunglasses (Chanel&Ray-ban&Pucci), a leather bag, and wedges. I really really really want them. Don't you just love those vintage round Pucci!
I don't know why, but grownups aren't that crazy about sunglasses. I am loving Proenza Schouler as well. If only. That's something to day dream about. Do you know that Mulberry is going to do something for Target? That reminds me, I went Target to check out Cynthia Vincent for Target, it was a disappointment. Maybe because I went too late, but those shoes are just not flattering. I am going to stick to my flats. You know, I couldn't find a perfect leather bag. Rebecca Minkoff is just so ehhh now. That's why I like classics. That reminded me, I need to watch some Audrey Hepburn movies this summer. I am having fun-ish. You and your dots, and my ishes and I. Eeeeeeeee, NEMO! I love your creativity. Scuba diving huh? Your summer isn't that bad, especially after the math camp. Did you read my yearbook post yet? FYI ,I have never seen a cowboy in real life before. Eeee Haw.

So what's up with you now? Did you read The Tale of Two Cities or The Alchemist? I am going to start soon. Soon as in, well soon. This is a long letter, and I didn't even think of a title yet. I am going to take some photos of Texas to prove you wrong. Oh, did you see little bookshelf beside my bed, not the night table with the lamp, the other side?

This photo is standing on top of it. I was four. Apparently, I didn't like to walk.

pam.

P.S. the Eee Haw came from It's A Wonderful Life, which I watched yesterday. It is in black and white, so you can probably guess it is an old movie. It is almost two now, and I still haven't finish my breakfast yet. God, this is a really really really long post, I won't torture you anymore.
